I’m full of random thoughts – but that isn’t such a bad thing when these seemingly “random” and frivolous thoughts actually generate some bright ideas, no?
Alright, but in this case, I just thought why not spend a few minutes thinking about the pretty faces I saw on TV last night while chilling out over a nice dinner prepared by Daddyyyyyy?
I thought the themes – 1930s old Shanghai grandeur, 1950s old Hollywood glamour, 1980s Hong Kong revival and a Bollywood-inspired set are not bad! Costume and makeup are particularly impressive, though I can’t say the acting, singing and dancing chops of all potential starlets got my attention.
My first favourite face – Dai Yang Tian!
Boyish good looks – checked!
Yeah, I’m one of Aunty Lucy’s fans. I think s/he’s like one of the most convincing and laugh-worthy cross dressing aunty EVER.
Coming to the point, the Top 10 winners!
The Top 10 Star Search 2010 finalists.
Guys (L-R): Darryl Yong, Romeo Tan, Jeffrey Xu, Jeff Lim and James Seah.
Girls (L-R): Adeline Lim, Sora Ma, Vivi Hu, Teh YiLynn and Peggy Lin.
Some eye candy peeks to spice up your Monday afternoon -
Peggy Lin and Alex Chuang doing their couple dance together for the 30s Shanghai set. Both good looking and promising, was a little surprised Alex didn’t get into the finals. Peggy’s a recognized beauty with star presence, especially by Christopher Lee, and I have to agree.
Jocelyn Kah from Malaysia looking respledent in a white floor-length dress. She was also eliminated and finds it “hard to let go” because they have “worked very hard” and she “presented my best”.
The lanky model shared that she felt “really nervous” and was “practically trembling” throughout the night’s show.
I thought she looked almost like Cinderella in her beautiful dress and hairdo! She carried off her character in that segment pretty well too.
Jeff Lim and James Seah were more outstanding in their performances here, in my opinion.
One of the Top 10 winners last night, Malaysian-born Teh YiLynn shimmied and flaunted her exotic moves in the Bollywood group dance. Although the most petite contestant (1.58m), her pretty face and “natural” acting skills won the judges over.
The Bollywood Trio featuring Vivi Hu, Adeline Lim and Teh YiLynn. All three got into the finals together. Kok Len Shoong felt that this group stood out the most during the dance segment – nods.
I thought this outfit was pretty hilarious – reminds me of some masked Ninja cum burglar but yeah, very Anita Mui.
Sorry for day dreaming, but Romeo Tan is the perfect embodiment of my ideal ROMEO. And my private thoughts include an observation that tall people (he’s 1.82m), especially guys, look very suave and charming in all white ensembles.
He knows how to project his image with the pluses of a nice height and build.
James Seah drew much laughter for his over-the-top acting as an effeminate fashion consultant.
Jeff Lim (my other favourite) from Malaysia, acting as a dashing and suave younger brother of Sora Ma’s character.
Peggy Lin donning a ridiculously curly wig and colourful ensemble that spelt fashion disaster. Her “uglifying” sacrifices worked as she scored a spot in the Top 10 last night.
Alex Chuang from Taiwan, in a head-to-toe leopard print outfit. He was eliminated despite his hilarious role as Ah Bao in the skit. The model, although disappointed, gave it his all and was not let down by his own performance.
Special performances by Teresa Tseng and Daren Tan. I thought Daren looks better than ever before! Must have slimmed down – and yes, white outfit works works works!
Special guest performance by G.Na, who sang two songs that night – Super Solo and I’ll back off so you can live.
“No matter how many times you fall, you gotta keep going.”
My picks: Jeff Lim, Romeo Tan, Peggy Lin, Sora Ma.
Some photography shots of my favourites!
