Everywhere I go reminds me of Christmas! If not for the exams, the mood to party and celebrate birthdays and pre-Christmas activities is already here!!! Amazing. How this atmosphere cheers me up and spurs me on to work harder so that I can have a better holiday (mind at peace), that is. Afterall, my internship programme for the first 7-8 months in 2010 means that it’s gonna be a different lifestyle for me altogether. No more boring lectures and tutorials for the entire week. I’m only taking 2 core modules.
Well, while the Sunday Times yesterday compares the Christmas light-up at Orchard and Marina Bay, I’m bringing to you some ideas about Christmas cooking – the ingredients and recipes at least. Oh that reminds me? Did all of you watch Julie and Julia – it’s a great movie for cooking enthusiasts and budding chefs! Did that capture your interest? Read on!
SuperNature – Singapore’s leading retailer of organic and natural products!

SuperNature
I received a mailer from them this morning and the whole idea of “going organic” makes me all interested because I’ve always believed in the health benefits of organic stuff - away from mass produced and chemically treated “junk”.
“SuperNature sources fresh produce, deli items and groceries, as well as baby and children’s, beauty and wellness, household, pet and garden care products. We also supply many of Singapore’s organic retailers and restaurants.
SuperNature scours the world for the best products, currently sourcing from the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan and Thailand. 95% of our products are organic, certified by credible certification bodies such as the USDA (United State of Department of Agriculture), the Soil Association (UK), and the JAS (Japanese Agricultural Standard).
SuperNature also carries a select range of natural but not certified organic products such as antibiotic-free and hormone-free meat, sustainable, wild-caught seafood, and gluten-free and wheat-free breads and pasta. Consistency is assured by the fact that SuperNature is the direct importer of all its products, dealing directly with suppliers and not with middlemen.” – http://www.supernature.com.sg

SuperNature even has tips on their website on how to prepare a healthy and delicious Christmas meal for your guests at home, in addition to information on genetically modified foods in contrast to the art of appreciating “Slow Foods” – discover your love for organic now!
Do drop by SuperNature’s eshop for your online shopping experience! My favourite page will be the Beauty and Wellness section – they stock organic and natural vitamins, vegan-suitable supplements and a wide range of alternative medicines like Bach Flower Remedies, natural cosmetics, skincare, bodycare, haircare and wellness choices without any irritants, toxic or artificial ingredients! Wow! This could be the next new rage after mineral makeup!
“Organic makeup” anyone?

Linden Leaves In Love Again Aromatherapy Synergy Body Oil. It’s meant to soften skin post-shower, but be entranced by its free-floating strawberries and slices of peach.

Loose mineral makeup has to be seamlessly buffed into the skin or it can look cakey. With 7,000 micro-vibrations a minute, Lancôme Ôscillation Powerfoundation Micro-Vibrating Polishing Mineral Make-up SPF 21 has the skills you may be lacking—with the press of a button, the applicator breaks down the powder and deftly blends it onto your face.

Mark Belle of the Ball Lip Balm ($8 each, avon.ca) —these are most definitely glosses, in sheer red, rose and peach. Encapsulated in metallic ornament-like spheres, they’re an inexpensive way to dab on some festive shine.

Gardenia’s most beautiful notes are released after a morning storm. Attempting to capture the scent of a rain-drenched bloom is Annick Goutal’s Un Matin d’Orage. Rounded out with magnolia and jasmine, the scent is a burst of wet, floral freshness—minus the need for wellies.

What Tide to Go is to laundry and Mr. Clean Magic Eraser is to walls, Origins Starting Over Age-Erasing Moisturizer with Mimosa aims to be to skin. This cream is so chock full of collagen-boosting mimosa-tree bark and green algae and wrinkle-fighting argan leaf that we’re putting down the injectables and picking up the 20-year-olds. —Adriana Ermter
