Halloweeeeeen whut?!

Halloween’s technically on Monday, but we’re all going to do our thing at tricks and treats tonight! I’ve missed Halloween proper the past few years, and it’s not going to happen this year, as I’ve fully prepared for my outfit – full costume, including my self invented “crown” wand…here comes the Queen of Hearts!

I got this from Far East Plaza – but please do not purchase from there because the price are exorbitant! I paid $80 for this costume, a corset top and full skirt with a complementary crown, excluding the boots. It’s only this afternoon that my girlfriend Agnes referred me to this site Truly Yours that I’ve got a shock! They also have this design – at only $49.90! Bao Chern also introduced Simply Intimate to me – awww such pretty pieces yet so much more affordable than those in physical stores!

So what are you going as tonight??

Maybe I should share some interesting insights on how to go as your favourite celebrity, if you’re not into ghosts and ghouls!

Katy Perry

Perry’s award show dresses are always avant-garde—and made by top designers, including Tom Ford, Versace, Christian Dior, and Betsey Johnson. If a custom Smurfette dress is out of your price range, try this Topshop sequin bodycon dress instead.

Curious how long Perry keeps her pink hair?? —but thankfully with this wig you’ll only need to commit for a night. Curl it into some victory rolls to imitate her of-the-moment style, seen here in a recent InStyle shoot.

If Perry doesn’t already own a pair of these shoes, the publicist at Haus of Price needs to fix that, stat! Covered in gemstones and metal studs, these heels look like a candy store exploded. In a good way, of course.

Perry’s show-stopping manicures are one of the top reasons why I adore her. Add the finishing touch to your costume by doing a little DIY nail art at home. Of course it makes sense to use polish from the OPI Katy Perry collection, then incorporate some embellishment with decals from a Cina nail art kit.

Mick and Bianca Jagger

It was the ‘70s, so obviously a tan corduroy suit was the thing to wear. We like this updated version from Band of Outsiders, but if you crave a wider collar, Value Village should give you some satisfaction.

If anyone deserves to wear a country-western shirt on his wedding day, it’s Mick Jagger. So buck up and button up this paisley-printed Stetson shirt.

Yep, Mick wore runners on his wedding day. Say “I do” to this pair of blue suede-ish shoes from Zara for a casual look that you can trick-or-treat all night long in.

Two tone shoe ($60,

A white blazer with nothing else underneath—would you have guessed Bianca was four months pregnant when they were married? Her suit was a custom YSL design, but for your costume we suggest the much more affordable Forever 21.

Forever 21 Longline blazer ($36,

You know you’re a style icon when you can take something traditionally mother-of-the-bride (a white mid-length skirt) and make it into an outfit more covetable than a regular wedding dress. This Donna Karan skirt is the perfect stand in.

Donna Karan stretch cotton blend skirt ($299,

Okay, maybe it’s actually the hat that makes Bianca’s outfit so iconic. DIY your own bridal headwear with a white chapeau from American Apparel, some tulle fabric, and craft flowers. (And no need to sew, this project is all about the glue gun!)

American Apparel wool floppy hat ($55,

Just when you finished your hat, we’re sending you back to Michael’s for more flowers! A wedding costume isn’t complete without a garland of pretty white petals and a faux bouquet.

Ashland Classic Traditions Collection white floral chain garland and cream mini rose bundle stem ($5-30,

This white strappy pair have a sweet “I just married a rockstar” ‘70s vibe. Bianca would approve!

The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2010!

The Victoria’s Secret models have always WOWed audiences worldwide – not only are they the best paid fashion models in the industry, they also dropped the most number of jaws in an hour, at least while the show is on.

What people don’t realize is that they’re rarer by far than superstar athletes,” Mr. Razek said of women who fit precise but unwritten physical parameters for becoming a Victoria’s Secret angel. “The numbers of people who can do this are probably under 100 in the world,” Mr. Razek said. “And in the show it’s only 30 girls.”
The 2010 VS Fashion Show edition features a more serious take on lingerie, moving away from the cotton candy Pink-inspired styles into more powerful sexy styles.  Top models seen on the runway included Heidi Klum, Alessandra Ambrosio, Doutzen Kroes, Caroline Trentini, Chanel Iman and Miranda Kerr, with Marisa Miller showcasing the Fantasy Bra.

How did the Angels do it?

// Preparing for the show is no piece of cake. A buffet was backstage, but most of the models had been monitoring themselves for weeks.

“I try to eat organic all the time,” Kurkova said. “I don’t eat white sugar, white flour, processed food.”

“I do kickboxing and Pilates,” said model Lily Aldridge, who is engaged to Kings of Leon‘s Caleb Followill. “Closer to the show I do a little bit more, leg lifts and a lot of crunches.”

Said Ambrosio: “I called my trainer 15 days ago and started doing the Brazilian butt lift, which is lots of ankle weights. Yesterday, I was lifting 30 pounds on each leg. I was like, dying. But you get immediate results. Your bum gets way more round.”

With nary a stunt bump or bruise in sight, model-turned-Transformers 3 actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley arrived earlier in the day by red-eye. “I made it!” she said, sitting in her silk robe backstage.

Chanel Iman was preparing for her first pair of wings. “I’ve been trying to hold it back from everybody that I finally have wings,” she said. “My last wings are 35 pounds.” That’s heavy, but she had a plan. “I’m going to put them on at the last minute, put my shoulders back, and as soon as I get backstage I’m taking those things off.” //

No doubt VS Angels are some of the world’s top beauties, I can’t help to think that jaw dropping physical beauty does need a lot of help – the costumes, makeup (body, face and what nots), hair, shoes and man made accessories, even cosmetic surgery all play a part in crafting out perceived BEAUTY – in every sense of the word.

Valentine’s Day [II]

You’ve got the dress you want, the accessories, the makeup…oh wait. What are the most attractive looks I can possibly have on Valentine’s Day?

I can’t wait! Let’s find out!

Valentine’s Day makeup should be all about the lips according to celebrity makeup artist Christopher Drummond. If you have the prefect date this Valentine’s Day but still need the perfect makeover to look your best, here are Christopher’s tips for the perfect Valentine’s Day look:

To feel more romantic, use naturally scented lip products.

If you are hesitant to wear bright red lipstick, wear a soft red gloss instead

Valentine’s Day is all about kissing the one you love. Be sure to keep your lips hydrated with shea butter. This natural ingredient keeps your lips smoother longer than petroleum.

Use your lip liner on top of lipstick. This helps to avoid the oblivious line around the lips when your gloss comes off. Lining after your lip color also allows for easier application and blendability.

For fuller lips, add shimmer (try: apply Christopher Drummond Beauty Relache Ice Eye Shadow to the inner lips to create the illusion of fullness)

Christopher Drummond Beauty offers an all-natural, petroleum-free, soft red lip gloss called “Lucious” that is perfect to wear on Valentine’s Day. The gloss contains the essential oil of blood orange, which gives it a light, refreshing citrus scent. It also contains castor oil, coconut oil, soybean oil and vitamin E.

The Soft Peach & Plum LOOK

  • Eyes: MAC Soft Ochre Paint Pot (neutral beige base), NARS Kuala Lumpur Eyeshadow Duo (soft melon/plum burgundy), NARS Mediteranee Eyeshadow Duo (soft gold), Urban Decay 1999 24/7 Liner (burgundy), MAC Plushlash Mascara (black)
  • Face: Kiehl’s Tinted Moisturizer (Medium)
  • Cheeks: MAC Vintage Grape Blush Ombre (dirty plum)
  • Lips: MAC Radicchio Lipstick (pinky plum), MAC Almondine Lipglass (frosty white-gold) (sheer gold)
  • Brushes: 226 (fluffy crease brush), 219 (pointed crease brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 116 (dense blush brush)
  • Substitutes:  Try MAC Motif, MAC Cranberry, MAC Ricepaper

The good: Rihanna. The Bad: Katy Perry. The Ugly: Kesha. Photo: Getty Images

Inspiration (and takeaways) from the Grammy’s 2010

The Good! Among the usual bevy of gorgeous looks — the one that stood out most to us was Rihanna. Her shining silver shadow (a big red carpet trend this year) and dark lashes made her brown eyes glow orange, and looked gorgeous and elegant with her stark white dress.

The Bad! Katy Perry paired her elegant Zac Posen dress with a golden bindi on her forehead. “I have this whole kinda Indian thing because we came back from India a couple of weeks ago,” she told Ryan Seacrest of her look. The bindi on a clean face would have looked fantastic, but paired with purple and yellow gold eye shadow and bubble gum pink lips, Perry looked more peacock than pretty.

The Ugly! Kesha’s eyes looked like they had been hit by a sparkle meteorite, her liner was a little too Cleopatra, and the feather in her hair…oh my.

And I chanced upon this really pretty makeup tutorial – of  Pink and Gold Theme – simply gorgeous!

If you are going to try a new makeup look on Valentine’s Day, be sure to give it a trial run a few days in advance. You don’t want to be experimenting the day of — the colors could look wrong on you. And then, you’d have to start all over right before your date.

It’s a really good makeup video I swear! I’m going to try it for V day but not sure how it’ll turn out! x-fingers!

The main trend this year is the asymmetrical fringe, lost in a part which is much longer than the rest of the hair. For  2010 the trend rule is simple: Focus on the fringe.

The short, stylish bob with a thick mop of bangs

Short hair is in again this year but give it a smooth and voluminous feel for the modern and urban chic look. Blonde is definitely cool, as well as the lighter shades of brown and copper to be perfect for Spring/Summer.

Lady Gaga goes for a medium cut with layers and her classic sharp and straight fringe.

Curls are always sexy, just think Taylor Swift.

Miss Fox herself.

And elegant beauty Rachel Weisz

I personally love this photo a lot because of the pink hues and of course, the beautiful hair!

Speaking of Valentine’s Day, it doesn’t hurt to look a little ruffled and you know, “out of the bed”.

Too neat is not sexy.

And don’t we all love Miranda Kerr, especially after the David Kiely incident???

Sally Hensen, OPI – Say yes to pretty nails. My nails are short, naked and un-lady-like! So guess what? I’m going for my first manicure tomorrow! First time ever in my life!!! :))))) I’ve finally got enough of people around me fussing over their nails and nail polish so I’m going to try it and hopefully never turn back! Hello, va-va voom nails!

As far as I know Sally Hensen and OPI are the most fussed over!

The best part is that there’s an Alice in Wonderland collection @ OPI! How cool is that!

And I saw it on Melody – the colour is jaw-dropping gorgeous! 🙂

Some very pretty nails from thistlebellenail

I’m lusting after…

Guerlain Cherry Blossom Spring 2010 Collection

Love the eyeshadow and blush palettes’ intricate design work, with an “Asian twist”. But don’t be fooled into thinking that the Météorites Voyage Exceptional Pressed Powder ($280) is solely a sight to behold. In actual fact the six shades have been careful selected to impart radiance. Mauve catches the light and brightens; pink refreshes the skin; green reduces redness, while white, champagne and pink gold reflect the light for added luminosity. The Rouge G de Guerlain Le Brillant ($68) lipstick-cum-James-Bond-gadget is also available in six new shades. Lust, lust, lust. Love, love, love.
