Maiden Hair Treatment @ Chez Vous!

1

My curiosity got ignited when fellow blogger and friend Ena introduced me to Chez Vous. She had visited the hair salon and sang its praises about their services and her wonderful experience and I couldn’t wait to check it out! Chez Vous is a beauty outfit veteran (with a 19-year history) that has just gone through a stunning facelift at their Takashimaya location!

With a redefined layout and designer interior setting the stage for a series of innovative and ambitious initiatives, the 2,000 square foot elite beauty powerhouse exudes a reassuringly unpretentious yet chic sophistication. I felt very comfortable in the salon and was amazed by Chez Vous’ attention to details and care towards customers’ needs. You can even have your manicure sessions in the salon – that’s killing 2 birds with 1 stone, which is awesome for busy working professionals like myself.

I was particularly intrigued by their display wall of products and brightly colored hand sculptures. These sculptures represent the hands of the many people that have been on Chez Vous’ journey, reminding them that the success of this unassuming industry heavyweight was built neither ovenight nor alone.

The remixed Chez Vous now tastefully flaunts a focus on aesthetics combined with experiential elements from arrival to departure. The interior’s piece de resistance is unmistakably the handsome panelled wood sculpture artwork that forms a man’s face that transforms in expression given your perspective.

Apart from each plush styling pod equipped with in-seat entertainment gadgets, the salon is also uniquely conceptualised using defined “zones” – the SPLASH calming head wash area, the WOW private room, the HYDRA reception bar; each designed to please and pamper the clients.

After a privileged tour of the salon, I was showed to my seat, all ready to be pampered by the Chez Vous professionals!

And my “throne” of the day looks like this, fit for a princess! Almost a private space all to myself, I quickly settled in and got my hair assessed by Jamie before the treatment began.

By the way, Chez Vous boasts a “only hair directors allowed” policy – the first of its kind in the hair salon industry in Singapore with an unparalleled roster of beauty experts. I had no doubt that my hair would be well taken care of 🙂 And only just in time before my major event started, because my hair had looked like this:

PC074633

A long mess of frizz and parched haystack 🙁 I mean, I have been so busy working that I had neglected taking care of my hair and going for regular treatments. And for hair like mine that had been chemically treated and also given the length, it practically needs special attention for basic maintenance.

PC074634

Taking some more shots of that mess of a head before I bid it goodbye for real!

PC074635

So Jamie had advised that I go for their keratin treatment that will defrizz and smoothen the unruliest of hair textures. And I also requested for a hair cut to chop off that long mob that had no longer done justice to my photo-shoot pictures. The length (almost waist-length) had caused some hair-fall and its weight was a bit too much for my petite frame. So finally, I’m cutting my hair!

PC074646

Enjoying a cup of hot camomile tea I ordered during the treatment.

PC074647

And I’m not kidding when I said that they have a drink menu! And it includes selections like americano, latte, teh tarik and peppermint tea?! WOW.

PC074640

They even have a tablet at the vanity table right in front of me purely for entertainment purposes. You can watch your favourite programmes, movies, play games, etc.

Yup, its almost like your own home!

PC074643

Pre-loaded apps for your enjoyment.

During the treatment, Jamie and Eugene both advised on the post-treatment care procedures, and gave me the Ultra Rich Keratin Care Shampoo & Conditioner for my usage at home. Thank you so much for your generosity!

As the treatment was underway, I also took time to browse Chez Vous’ corporate profiles and came across its Chief Director & Co-Founder’s – Thomas Teo. It was really interesting to find out that they had listed their stylists’ credentials, strengths and years of experience. This December, Chez Vous has also kicked off their “We’ll Fix It” initiative that boldly promises to miraculously repair manes that recently have been badly treated or cut. And for Thomas, in this instance, his ‘Fix You Programme Lead’ will be in haircut correction and color/highlight correction.

Spotted this mannequin in Chez Vous, their way of supporting local fashion designers – Depression (AW14 Collection – Dark Nature). It was thrilling to me to know that Chez Vous also supports local fashion talent, and symbolically doing so even within the physical arena of the salon. In many aspects, I share the brand sentiments and philosophies of Chez Vous and is honoured to be part of the Chez Vous team in promoting fashion and beauty and their accompanying campaigns/initiatives!

And before I know it, bright smiles and thrilled with the results after the keratin treatment! My hair looked so much healthier, shinier and softer. I felt ready to take on the world!

With my stylist, Jamie <3 Thank you for being awesome and I really love the hair cut!

This private WOW room was where I took all my selfies because the lighting was so good and I had all the space to myself for the self shots 😛

Chez Vous’ signature menu ranges from the buzzing Ikebana series to scalp and Keratin treatments and Korean styling by one of their own hair directors whom hails from Korea. The salon continues to expertly deliver on its core offerings while naturally, using only the creme de la creme when it comes to products and technology.

Upcoming initiatives will also include cheeky by-appointment only makeover parties coined “Mix, Mingle, Makeover” as well as their #ThursdayisthenewFriday programme once a month where there will be a surprise treat for all guests e.g. macaroon and wine butler service, waive of bills etc, ongoing campaigns and efforts to support emerging designers. As a show of their support, Chez Vous’ shopfront will regularly be transformed by Singapore’s design personalities on the rise.

With its A-list team of directors, a genuine commitment to their craft and service, and a new tastefully chic environment set to awe, the revamped Chez Vous will undoubtedly prove itself not only a mainstayer but also a pioneer in the art of hair.

Thank you, Chez Vous, and till my next trip, love ya!
