A big thank you to Rouge Communications and Strawberry Park Resorts @ Cameron Highlands for inviting me down to a 3D2N retreat in a wholesome, relaxing and surreal environment perfect for a weekend getaway, a good distance away from the hustle and bustle of city life…..

Ken and I started our much anticipated trip from Sunday evening in a coach by Konsortium Singapore! The seats were roomy and comfortable and they even have an in house entertainment system! I actually re-watched Twilight: Breaking Dawn though there were several new movies to choose from like Captain American, The Amazing Spiderman and Puss in Boots! Another great thing is that the coach was super punctual. We were the last passengers to get on board and by 10.30pm sharp we’re off!

A quick stop over after midnight for some snacks. See the row of coaches! It’s really a place for passengers on trips like this to refresh themselves and have toilet breaks!

We even spotted an old Rolls Royce on display! 5555!

Just before 7am – we finally reached Cameron Highlands! It was quite a bumpy ride towards the end as we approached the mountain top – I remembered the tour guide mentioning that there were at least 370 roundabouts before reaching The Destination. No wonder I felt a little dizzy after 8.5 hours in the coach!

But ahh…the cool temperatures is certainly something new – colder than I expected at less than 20 degrees celsius! Such a breather from Singapore’s tropical/warm temperatures :)

A quick morning breakfast of prawn noodles and teh-o!

First look at the first corner of the Tioga Deluxe Suite assigned for my visit :)

The suite is very spacious, comfy and has a contemporary layout that will give any occupant a relaxed feeling. Plunging yourself down on the couch in front of the television set with a cuppa – bliss! Guess what? The facility does not need any air-conditioning or even ventilation except in the bathroom as the cool weather will already provide the necessary environment and comfort that you need!

The luxurious Tioga Deluxe Suite is furnished with polished wooded flooring and comes with a bedroom that opens ip to the living room with a large sofa. The Tioga Deluxe Suite comes with either 1 king size bed or 2 super single beds. The breath taking view from the balcony!

A sneak peak at the Mandrayu Spa that’s directly below our balcony…

After a short rest in the suite, it’s time for the first segment of the day! English pies at Jim Thompson Terrace, which is an all day dining outlet serving a wide variety of popular local and western cuisine.

The view from the outdoors of Jim Thompson….we specially chose one of the tables at the balcony to take in the refreshing air!

Lots and lots of forest.

While busy snapping photos, the food came! Strawberry pie and ice cream!

Hers.

His.

It was definitely a scrumptious meal as you can see from the photos! With a filled stomach, we went around the resort taking photos and enjoying the magnificent scenery of Cameron Highlands and its accompanying Strawberry Park Resorts ;)

All the flower pictures were taken by me because I was just so enthralled by the beautiful blooms!

These vans are catered specially for short day tours as provided by Strawberry Park Resorts, like the Countryside Tour, Hill Forest Walk, Sunrise Tour and the Mossy Forest Walk.

Back to the “HQ” of the resort to have a drink!

Just beside the Lobby Lounge, the Lobby Bar is outside the Jim Thompson Terrace where you relax with a beer or a glass of wine and simply unwind!

The Lobby Lounge (with a fireplace!)

Gift shop (where I got my mufflers :P )

On our way back to the suite, we dropped by the Mandrayu Spa! Like a place of nirvana, there was a jaccuzi and a nice pavilion to relax at. Didn’t try the jacuzzi though because it was too cold!

Inside the Mandrayu Spa…

The spa was actually full house when we arrived so we didn’t get to enjoy a massage. Awww!

The temperature dropped even further as a storm gathered..and rained soon after!

Back to the spick and span suite after room service, we were surprised by a pretty plate of fresh fruits on the coffee table, complimentary! Yayyy! Munching on the juicy bites, we watched some cartoons and the Olympic Games on cable before heading to a Thai Steamboat Dinner at…

Sawadee Thai Restaurant (halal-thai)

It was a hearty dinner for two on a chilly night with light rainfall. Wheee!~

And that ended Day 1! Stay tuned for Day 2 and 3 coming up soon! :D
