It was pretty exciting heading to the ION Sky for the ION Orchard & Harper’s Bazaar Photography Awards shoot – Located on levels 55 and 56 and at an impressive 218 metres, it’s a destination offering an unrivaled 360-degree view from the highest point on Orchard Road. It houses an observatory, an event space, and the Salt grill featuring highly acclaimed Australian chef Luke Mangan. “This breathtaking, picture-perfect view will be a stunning backdrop for international runway shows, exclusive product launches as well as celebrity and themed parties.”

This is basically the overall view of the ION Sky Observatory – given such a basic, rigid, concrete and “metallic” setting, I guess it’s a challenge to come up with something absolutely unique, satisfying the following judging criteria:
1. Relevance to fashion/art/architecture
2. Composition/ Arrangement
3. Focus/ Sharpness
4. Use of lighting
5. Originality/ Creativity
6. Effective visual use of location

Makeup – high fashion theme of colours blue, purple, green and red
Hair – “messy”, loud, bohemian, “big and wild”
And Mike and I came up with these, which are 2 of the 5 shots going to be submitted to the competition.
Makeup and Hair: Shue Jie Yi
Outfits: Black and White tube maxi dresses
Photographer: Mike S
I love photoshoots! But anyway the shoot ended prematurely early because we were “chased out” by the event organizers for Ernst and Young! Tsk! Bad management huh? They didn’t know the timings for our shoots and the company event actually clashed. Bummer, or I could have tried the other dresses too.

Anyway, I met a talented makeup artist Angel at the Cozycot 100 Most Inspiring Real Women event last Saturday and I really love her portfolio! Here’re some really awesome shots!
